Context
A designer brought me in to animate a set of music event posters: tour promo for Grupo Firme and artwork for a run of DJ events. I worked from finished static compositions and turned each one into a short, looping motion piece.
Insights
Turning a static poster into motion is an editing problem as much as a design one. What moves first, and why, is the whole game. Get that wrong and the layout just wiggles.
The Problem
Each poster was already resolved as a still. My job was to add time without breaking the composition, and to make the motion feel like it belonged to the piece rather than an effect laid on top.
The Solution
I developed the motion concept for every poster: how the type enters, what carries the rhythm, where the piece rests and loops. I animated all of them in After Effects and Cinema 4D, matching the energy of each act, from a stadium tour to a club night.
The Outcome
The posters ran on Grupo Firme's tour and across the DJ event series, used as the artists' promotional assets rather than as studies.
